Open Your Heart This Season of Giving: Support Tzus & Mews and Make a Difference

As the holidays approach, we enter a time filled with gratitude, celebration, and reflection. It’s also the season of giving — a moment each year when many of us pause to support the causes that matter most to us. For Houston Shih Tzu Rescue Tzus & Mews, this season is a lifeline. Your generosity provides medical care, food, rehabilitation, and safe, loving homes for babies who have nowhere else to turn.

This year, we invite you to join (rejoin) our community of compassionate supporters and consider how your gift — whether small or substantial — can transform a life.

💛 Why Give Now?

The holidays inspire kindness, and charitable giving is often at its highest during this time. Not only is it deeply rewarding to know you are helping animals in need, but donations made before December 31 may also offer tax benefits, including charitable deductions if you itemize. It’s a win-win: you change a life and potentially lighten your tax burden.

And our needs are great. Amara needs hip surgery. Autumn's eyes need special care. All of the babies need healthy food and the mix of holistic care and traditional medicine that readies them for their happy homes.

One of our long-time donors put it perfectly: “I give as much as I can, as often as I can.”

Every gift matters — every $5 Friday, every one-time donation, every recurring gift. Your compassion fuels our mission.

🎁 Creative Ways to Give This Season

There are so many meaningful ways to support Tzus & Mews — even beyond a traditional donation. Here are some ideas to spark your generosity:

🐾 1. Corporate Matching Gifts

Many employers will match your charitable contributions — sometimes doubling or tripling your impact. Ask your HR department if your company participates in a matching program. Matching amounts generally reset at year end.

🐾 2. Donor Advised Funds

If you give through a DAF, consider recommending a grant to Tzus & Mews this season. It’s one of the fastest and most tax-efficient ways to support rescue animals.

🐾 3. 401(k) or IRA Charitable Giving

Some retirement plans allow for Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs). This method offers tax advantages and directly supports rescue work where it’s needed most.

🐾 4. $5 Friday

A simple way to help: commit to giving $5 every Friday. It may feel small, but when our community joins together, it creates a powerful impact.

🐾 5. Gifts That Give Back

Ask friends and family to donate to Tzus & Mews instead of exchanging holiday gifts. It’s a meaningful way to honor loved ones while helping animals in need.

🐾 6. Monthly Support

Becoming a monthly donor provides stability, helping us plan medical treatments, food expenses, and rehabilitation programs with confidence.

🐾 7. Partnering

You can also share your talents, if you are a creator or an entrepreneur let’s partner. Commit to give a $ of profits over a period or from a particular item. Donate your wares to us for an online auction.  If you’ve got it, we can use it!

🎉 Mark Your Calendar: Giving Tuesday & Our 12 Days of Christmas

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is Giving Tuesday, one of the most important charitable days of the year. It’s the perfect time to make a contribution, participate in a matching challenge, or share our mission with friends.

And this year, we’ll be celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas — highlighting stories, needs, and special opportunities to support our rescue work throughout the holiday season. Stay tuned on our social media and email list for ways to participate!

❤️ Your Gift Saves Lives

Every Shih Tzu, cat, chicken, senior pup, special-needs case, and abandoned animal who enters our care depends on people like you. Whether you give through a matching gift, a donor-advised fund, a retirement plan, or even a $5 Friday contribution — your generosity creates hope.

This season, please join us in making a difference. Give what you can. Give in the way that works for you. And give knowing that your kindness changes lives.

From all of us at Tzus & Mews — and from the animals whose futures you make possible — thank you.

We accept online donations through PayPal and Venmo. More information is in the post below.

Training employees to recognise each fire safety symbol is as important as the installation of the signs themselves. Induction programs should explain what each colour and shape represents within the context of the specific workplace. When staff members understand the signage, they can guide visitors or customers during an emergency. This shared knowledge creates a robust culture of safety within the organization. The College of Contract Management facilitates this professional development through its expert-led online lectures.

The College of Contract Management offers an HND in Accounting and Finance. Simple explanation about finance vs accounting ? Finance is about future planning, growth, and investment, while accounting is about recording, reporting, and verifying past/present financial data.

The complexity of a jct contract and the many possible scenarios that can arise on a live project often make it a lengthy document. It generally includes the introductory Agreement, recitals, Contract Particulars, and several other key sections. Understanding these details can be challenging, so guidance is valuable, and this can be gained through the online courses provided by the College of Contract Management.
